Feed My Starving Children
Sabbath, September 8th, found 40 volunteers from the three churches in our district packing meals for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) at Eagan, Minnesota. Before beginning their two hour shift all volunteers view an orientation film. The film educates and motivates as watchers learn about the Feed My Starving Children organization and the meals they'll help package. Children who are starving to death cannot digest a rich diet and need a specially formulated recipe of vitamins, minerals and protein packaged in a way that will preserve it from damage by weather and insects, and is easy to prepare for eating. At the end of the shift, we had packed 129 boxes containing 27,864 meals. That's enough to feed 76 kids for a year!
